Holiday and Seasonal Signage

-

With the holiday season right around the corner, it is important to have an idea of how you want to decorate your store in the coming months. There are three major holidays that you’ll be able to use to transform your store into a must-see destination. Decorating for the holidays is a good way to freshen up your store and attract customers. Shoppers want an experience so it is more important than ever to find ways to achieve this goal. Not only does it help draw in customers but it has also shown to boost employee morale.

If you aren’t willing to put in the work to have spooky Halloween or holly jolly signage displays/decor, just remember that your competition will. This is your opportunity to show some creativity while also sprucing up your aisles. Displays with holiday signage are a good way to draw attention to products while also showing you are in the spirit of the season. Whether that is a Pumpkin Patchsign with the carving kits and pumpkins or a Welcome to the North Polesign with cookies and hot cocoa for Santa, if you catch the customer’s eye you can capture their buys.

Creating an experience for your customers has been shown to increase average purchase/basket size. In-store shopping still has the upper hand over online when it comes to impulse purchases. Some studies have shown that you are likely to spend, on average, $50 more in store because of impulse buys. Holiday signage takes full advantage of this by drawing in customers to something they most likely didn’t come into purchase. Studies also show that anywhere from 55% to 70% of consumer decisions are made in store while shopping. Again, this is the perfect time to have holiday signage directing them to an aisle they weren’t going to shop or a section of the store they normally don’t make purchases.

A few things to remember when decorating your store for the holidays:

  • You can go cheap on holiday signage as long as it doesn’t look like it is. Otherwise this may give customers the impression you are cheap in other areas.
  • Don’t put up damaged or outdated signage. This will give off the impression you may not take care of other aspects of your store or you cut corners.
  • Try to be consistent with your holiday decor. Ideally, signage would be placed throughout the store while sticking to a central theme. If you don’t have a congruent theme, it may make the store come off more cluttered.

Follow these simple rules to make sure your holiday signage and decor draws in customers as opposed to scaring them away.

Dia de los Muertos

Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is an ancient Mexican holiday that dates back more than 3,000 years. It celebrates the lives of deceased loved ones and welcomes their souls for a brief reunion. Altars or memorials are often created with photos, favorite foods, candies, drinks, and candles to honor those who have passed away.
